Photography

Back in september I had bought a camera. I have a short journal entry where I briefly talk about it. But, pretty much i just have an old camera that takes 2 photos at once called the Stereo Realist. I found it one day at a thrift shop in my hometown, and it actually still works. I had to grease it slightly to unstick the film roll progressor. But i was actually able to put in film into it, and take photos with the camera. I think the coolest thing about this camera is that it contains no electronic parts what so ever.

I actually did learn how to take photos in college - learning things like stutter speed, iso, f-stop, lightmetering and also measuring distance to make sure what your filming is in focus (i was briefly a film major). I actually really enjoy the process of planning what to shoot, light metering, ajusting my camera settings and then finally taking the photo!

My first Photos

specs:

  • Film: fuji 400 135-36 35mm Color
  • Camera: Stereo Realist
  • Date of development: 9/8/25
  • Notes: I got Glossy Prints and digitally scanned

Im not including ALL the photos from this roll of film, just my personal favs - esp since my camera actually takes 2 photos at once, so there are alot of duplicate photos.

My Friend B. I like how the film overlapped a bit on this

it feels like this photo was taken in the 90's
This streak is from light leakage. Some of my photos have it and some dont haha.

Gifs

I made 2 gifs of images I took to kinda show the 3d-ness of of the two photos that are taken at the same time with the camera. I used gimp to create the gifs. I also had to slightly crop the images so the Subject doesnt flicker as much inbetween the photos

The colors of the 2 photos matched pretty well for this one

3maqi's Gif

There more contrast for each image so made some inbetween frames overlapping to slowly fade to image one and 2
